Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo (2)

My second post about Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo will focus on its basilica.
It's a beautiful building and still used for services.
Here's a close-up of the altar.
There are other rooms as well.
Finally, here's a whimsical look at the ceiling, shot with a fisheye lens.

  1. Certainly shows its age, but in a good way

  2. Beautiful mission church. the fish-eye lens view turned the ceiling into a fish. A miracle?

  4. Wow - you had me with the first picture! I love the open courtyard look with the gardens ... made me think of the Alamo. The altar is also stunning - I am not sure I have seen that color green used near an altar before; I like it!
