Multicolored Sunrise

Here's another crazy sunrise taken with my cellphone driving to work (stopped at a light).

Bridal Veil Falls (Yosemite)

Possibly the most famous waterfall in Yosemite is Bridal Veil Falls.
You don't want to know how long we waited to get a parking spot nearby, but it was worth it.
It is 617 feet (188 meters) high and truly spectacular.

Relaxing

If I'm relaxing with some music or a video game our little critters often join me. Long-haired Socks snuggles on top of the blanket...
...while short-haired Laika burrows under it!

Morning Shadows

When skiing last weekend, the view and shadows here struck me as worthy of a quick Skywatch Friday cell-phone snap. There's even a chairlift tower in the middle.

First Ski Day!

The snow hasn't been great this year, so I've been waiting to head up to Copper to ski. But I made the trip on Saturday, and despite the holiday-weekend crowds had fun and took a couple of shots with the cell-phone. The rope in the lower-left of the photo marks in-bound terrain.
I managed to stay away from most of the people. It's always nice to be in the mountains!

Another Boston Skywatch

Here's another leftover Skywatch Friday photo taken with my cellphone in cold Boston over the holidays.

Yosemite Waterfalls & El Capitan

For my next post on Yosemite I'm featuring a couple of its many tall waterfalls.
They're everywhere you look!
And here's a shot of the famous El Capitan, the 3,000-foot (900-meter) high rock formation.

Los Angeles 1988

This week's Skywatch Friday photo is from my first-ever trip to Los Angeles, all the way back in 1988.

Yosemite Streams

Last time we were in California we took a day to explore Yosemite. It was overcrowded (they need to start limiting visitor numbers), but still worth the trip. I'll start my posts with some streams. I've got several more posts from Yosemite planned so stay tuned...
The natural beauty really is amazing.
Everywhere you look there's something to see.
And of course, those famous rock faces are everywhere!

Section 16 Trail

One of our local trails is a square one mile on each side, and it's a good winter hike as it's relatively low elevation and doesn't get much snow.
There's nothing spectacular, but it makes for an enjoyable couple of hours.
