Venetian Hotel

For this week's Our World Tuesday entry, here are a few photos in and around the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. Notice the construction in the first photo, as there was a lot of building going on when we were there.
And finally a photo from the tram that connects the Mirage to Treasure Island - the photo doesn't really belong in this post but I don't want it to be forgotten.

  1. That is an awesomely beautiful hotel, Al, and your shots are fantastic! The ceiling of the dining area really took my breath away and, of course, I love the watery "canals"! Such vivid colors and sunshine! Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you a fun countdown to the New Year!

  8. What a grand 'Disneland' hotel complex! Reproduction kitsch extrordinaire! I presume the newly super rich movie people would love it. Me, give me the real thing with the foetid stench of the canals and all . . .

Are you seeing in the New Year there?

  9. The city which never sleeps is getting more and more wonderful. When we went to Las Vegas, my son was not enough old to hit the slots. Still I remember his disappointed face. Gorgeous photos.

  15. I love the last photo as well as the others. I think I know why you added it. The contrast between the comfort of stillness in nature and the comfort of luxury among beautiful and expensive surroundings is interesting. Wish you all the best for 2012.
